Crack in the Gnostic Egg
The one weakness the dinosaur had was its egg. Snakes have their hole and birds have their nests, but the dinosaur laid its egg out in the open where it could be cracked open and used for food. The dinosaur required a community to guard the nest. Guarding its future. Guarding the continuation of its kind.
The dinosaur is far more suceptible to extinction due to its demands upon the community. Fish need only a female fish to drop eggs and a male fish to fertilize them. The parents need never meet nor wait for their children to hatch. Plants have even less commitment to their offspring.
The dinosaur needed an entourage.

On Plants, Fish and Dinosaurs
John was a tree that became a fish. What sense does that make?
How does a tree reproduce? By means of a seed.
son of man requires fertile soil
he needs to find/create welcome ground
The son of man sows the seed, but he is not a plant. He is greater than the plant. John was a tree at whose root an axe had been laid. Without his head he became like a fish.
And fish? The female deposits her eggs and then the male fish adds his sperm. Fertilization takes place outside of the body and then the eggs are left to fend for themselves.
Plants and fish have no problem reproducing. But what of dinosaurs. What is there about the reproductive cycle of the dinosaur that makes it a likely candidate for extinction?

The Text of Secret Mark
So let us suppose that John survived his beheading. What happened then? To learn that we must turn to the text of Secret Mark.
"And they come into Bethany. And a certain woman whose brother had died was there. And, coming, she prostrated herself before Jesus and says to him, 'Son of David, have mercy on me.' But the disciples rebuked her. And Jesus, being angered, went off with her into the garden where the tomb was, and straightway a great cry was heard from the tomb. And going near Jesus rolled away the stone from the door of the tomb. And straightway, going in where the youth was, he stretched forth his hand and raised him, seizing his hand. But the youth, looking upon him, loved him and began to beseech him that he might be with him. And going out of the tomb they came into the house of the youth, for he was rich. And after six days Jesus told him what to do and in the evening the youth comes to him, wearing a linen cloth over his naked body. And he remained with him that night, for Jesus taught him the mystery of the kingdom of God. And thence, arising, he returned to the other side of the Jordan."
Jesus comes to Bethany. Bethany is where his father had his estate. Mary comes to Jesus and tells him that her brother is dead. John is her brother in that both she and John (and Jesus) had the same father. She asks him to help her brother. The other disciples tell her not to bother Jesus, but angrily Jesus goes to the tomb and rolls back the stone. John is overjoyed at being saved by Jesus, surely John had no idea that Jesus was behind his castration. Jesus sets to work healing his brother's wound.
And then after a week they set off. After they arrive at Jericho the secret text adds the following:
"And the sister of the youth whom Jesus loved and his mother and Salome were there, and Jesus did not receive them."
Mary and Salome wish to speak to Jesus regarding John. Once he was castrated he was technically theirs, Jesus healed him, which was fine, but then he took him, which was not. John was still perceived as a threat. He no longer threatened Jesus, but rather the entire Great Mother religion. They want to make sure that he doesn't get a chance to exact his revenge, but Jesus won't speak to them.

The Withered Palm Shoot
Think of a palm tree. Visualize it. A tall tree, from its head fall fruit which sprout into other trees. Ok. Now juxtapose that image with Onan doing the deed which bears his name. The seed falls and though it fails to sprout, there is little difference between the two images in essense. Phallic and engaged in the mechanism of reproduction.
The withering of the date palm indicates that it is no longer productive.
Prophecy has its source in a different 'head' than we imagine.
The Lord answered and said: "Do you not know that the head of prophecy was cut off with John?"
And I said: "Lord, it is not possible to remove the head of prophecy, is it?"
The Lord said to me: "When you come to know what 'head' is, and that prophecy issues from the head, then understand what is the meaning of 'Its head was removed'.
Jesus said, "Two will rest on a couch: one will die, one will live."
Salome said, "Who are you, O man? Like the One, you have gotten upon my couch and you have eaten from my table." Jesus said to her, "It is I who come from that which is undivided. I was given the things of my father."
"I am your disciple."
"Therefore I say that such a person, once undivided, will be filled with light; but such a person, once divided will be filled with darkness."
Gospel of Thomas 61
Jesus and John have both sat upon her couch. One will die. Clearly this is Jesus, as he harps on about his approaching death time and time again. So the other who will live is John.
Jesus has come from his father, the undivided, and Jesus is set to inherit his father's things.
Jesus, the undivided, is filled with light, while the divided, as John soon became, is filled with darkness.
What must be remember is that Jesus was initiated into the inner secrets of the Great Mother religion. But normally in order for a man to learn these secret he had to first become a woman.
Catullus -- Poem 63
Borne in his swift bark over deep seas, Attis,
when eagerly with speedy foot he reached the Phrygian woodland,
and entered the goddess' abodes, shadowy,
forest-crowned; there,
goaded by raging madness, bewildered in mind,
he cast down from him with sharp flint-stone the burden of his member.
So when she felt her limbs to have lost their manhood,
still with fresh blood dabbling the face of the ground,
swiftly with snowy bands she seized the light timbrel,
your timbrel, Cybele, thy mysteries, Mother,
and shaking with soft fingers the hollow oxhide
thus began she to sing to her companions tremulously:
"Come away, ye Gallae, go to the mountain forests of Cybele together,
together go, wandering herd of the lady of Dindymus,
who swiftly seeking alien homes as exiles,
followed my rule as I led you in my train,
endured the fast-flowing brine and the savage seas,
and unmanned your bodies from utter abhorrence of love,
cheer ye your Lady's heart with swift wanderings.
Let dull delay depart from your mind; go together, follow
to the Phrygian house of Cybele, to the Phrygian forests of the goddess,
where the noise of cymbals sounds, where timbrels re-echo,
where the Phrygian flute-player blows a deep note on his curved reed,
where the Maenads ivy-crowned toss their heads violently,
where with shrill yells they shake the holy emblems,
where that wandering company of the goddess is wont to rove,
whither for us 'tis meet to hasten with rapid dances."
So soon as Attis, woman yet no true one, chanted thus to her companions,
the revelers suddenly with quivering tongues yell aloud,
the light timbrel rings again, clash again the hollow cymbals,
swiftly to green Ida goes the rout with hurrying foot.
Then too frenzied, panting, uncertain, wanders, gasping for breath,
attended by the timbrel, Attis, through the dark forests their leader,
Fast follow the Gallae their swift-footed leader.
So when they gained the house of Cybele, faint and weary,
after much toil they take their rest without bread;
heavy sleep covers their eyes with drooping weariness,
the delirious madness of their mind departs in soft slumber. ...
Concerning the Syrian Goddess
by Lucian of Samosata
The Galloi
50 - And on set days the multitude assembles in the sanctuary, and many Galloi and the religious men that I spoke of perform their ceremonies; and they cut their own arms and beat one another on the back. And many stand there playing flutes and beating timbrels, and others sing inspired and holy songs. This is done outside the temple, and they who perform it do not come into the temple.
51 - And on these days Galloi are made. For while the rest are playing flutes and performing their rites, frenzy soon enters into many, and many there are who just came to watch who subsequently perform the act. I shall describe what they do. The young man whom Fortune has given to do this casts off his clothing and rushes into the center with a great shout, and takes up a sword, which has stood there many years for this purpose, I believe. Then he immediately castrates himself and runs through the city bearing in his hands those parts he has cut off. And from whatever house into which he shall cast these, he gets female clothing and womanly adornments. Thus they do when they castrate themselves. ...
The above gives new meaning to Jesus the Galilean. But as Jesus didn't make the required sacrifice, it was still due. John's 'head' of prophecy was taken in place of his brother's. The debt has been redeemed.
