THE TETRAD -- Part I

The Triad presents a self-sustaining cycle. Photosynthetic bacteria turns sunlight into food and while doing so produces oxygen as waste. Trilobites consume the flesh of the bacteria as well as the flesh of one another, while also using the oxygen present within the atmosphere to fuel their faster metabolisms. This equilibrium lasted for tens of millions of years.

There is a myth concerning Cronus and his wife Rhea. Rhea would give birth to a god and each time Cronus would eat the godling.

Here we have the two sides of the Triad, one side consuming what the other gives birth two.

However, when Zeus was born, Rhea substituted a stone for baby Zeus which she presented to Cronus and which he then ate.

This is the fourth sphere of the Tetrad dropping into place.

The resulting shape is the tetrahedron. This shape has the largest surface area for any given volume, compared to the sphere which has the smallest surface area for any given volume. Tank barriers are produced in this shape because the tetrahedron has the greatest ability of any regular polyhedron to lock into position through the use of friction. The harder you push on it, the less likely it is to move.

Where, with the Triad, we had movement, here everything is locked tightly into place.

This four sphere system is the Tetrad. Its trigram is Mountain.

Every line has two states, solid or broken. The bottom line is the ruling line for both Wind/Wood and Mountain. When the bottom line is solid, it has the quality symbolized by the astrological planet, Mercury, while a broken line indicates that Mars is in power.
